Location: Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Project: Observatory
Located on a beautiful hillside which enjoys panoramic views of the ocean and city, Guantanamo Bay Observatory was designed to become the backbone for atmospheric research in this region. The site, Crane Hill, was strategically selected for its remoteness and offers the best solution for observing terrestrial and celestial events. With potential to become a multi-disciplinary facility , this design offers a main structure that houses a 24 inch carbon tube telescope, two exhibition spaces, classrooms, and an observation deck for public viewing. Along with the main facility, a planetarium has been designed to give the community a live personal observation of our galaxy in a digital presentation.
