Project: Fresh Air Startup House

For entrepreneurs, there really is no place like Silicon Valley. More and more start-ups are choosing to set up headquarters in San Francisco city. The city area itself is quite small. They call it ‘7×7’ because it represents a grid area of 7 miles by 7 miles. For this reason, so many tech companies are concentrated in the same area, street and even building. Twitter sits next to Square and Uber in the same building on Market Street. Airbnb, Zynga, Pinterest, Dropbox and Yelp are all based in SOMA or South of Market Street.

My challenge was to design the container for a unique type of community of people improving the world. My focus was to create a space for individuals in their early stages of entrepenuership that need help to succeed. Specifically a community of builders, bootstrappers & disrupters from all over the world.This design offers a shared & dedicated desk workspace for entrepreneurs and their teams. Located at 1001 Harrison St, San Francisco, this space has been revitalized from an old car wash and has much more potential to expand.
